What are the selection criteria and when will the applicants be informed of the application results?
Applicants’ academic performance in prior study will be the major consideration during the initial screening process. For part-time programmes, applicants’ working experience will also be considered.
Mature applicants will be considered on the basis of working experience (e.g. duration, relevance of the working experience as well as the seniority, etc.) and the relevance of their prior studies.
Shortlisted applicants may be invited to attend admission interview and / or test.
Applicants will normally be notified of the application results within one month after the submission of the applications.

Non-local students who do not have the right of abode in Hong Kong can apply for PolyU-SPEED degree programmes, but they must obtain a student visa in order to study in Hong Kong. Please visit the HKSAR Immigration Department website.
The PolyU-SPEED bachelor’s degree programmes are articulation programmes with Associate Degree or Higher Diploma as the entry qualification. Normally, credit transfer will not be granted for students based on studies at sub-degree level.
Qualification & Recognition
The PolyU-SPEED award programmes are accredited by PolyU and offered by SPEED. They are self-financed programmes.
The parchment of PolyU-SPEED award contains the PolyU logo only (without SPEED logo) while the full English name of both PolyU and SPEED will be printed.
All degree programmes of PolyU-SPEED are listed in the Qualification Register (QR) of HKSAR at Level 5 (Bachelor’s Degree level).
Below are some findings of the graduate survey in 2019:
- Over 77% of the respondents secured full-time employment.

Overseas Award - Undergraduate Programmes
Northumbria University
In compliance with the Non-local Higher and Professional Education (Regulation) Ordinance, all programmes offered by non-local universities through PolyU SPEED are exempted from registration under the Ordinance. As conveyed by the Non-local Courses Registry of the Education Bureau, the registration or exemption from registration of a non-local programme is an assurance that the institution offering the programme is a recognised body in the home country. It also assures that effective measures are in place to ensure the standard of the programme offered locally is comparable to that of the home programme and is recognised as such by the institution, the relevant accreditation authority (if any) and the academic community in the home country. Applicants should possess a Higher Diploma or an Associate Degree or an equivalent qualification in a business-related discipline or BTEC Higher National Diploma in Business, AND achieve a pass (Grade E or above) in HKALE Use of English, a score of 575 in TOEFL, or 6.5 in IELTS, or equivalent in other tests of English.

The application fee is HK$200. The fee can be settled through online banking, Automated Teller Machine (ATM), by Octopus at PolyU SPEED offices or direct deposit at the bank to the specified bank account.

You can choose up to three programme choices in an application. The School will consider your application in the order of your preference.
Continuing Education (CE) Courses
CE Courses are open to lifelong learners. Most CE courses are open-entry and admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Some courses may have specific entry requirements or prerequisites. This is to ensure that learners have the prior knowledge or skills necessary for studying the topics covered.

Unless specified on the course promotional materials, students of CE courses are normally not allowed to use the libraries and computer centres in the campuses.

About HKCC
Established in 2001 under the auspices of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), Hong Kong Community College (HKCC) is a self-financed post-secondary institution which offers Associate Degree (AD) and Higher Diploma (HD) programmes spanning the
domains of arts, science, social sciences, business and the specialised areas of design and health studies for secondary school leavers.
Most of the subjects that you study will be taught in English, while a few will be taught in Chinese. Language subjects will be taught in the corresponding language.
HKCC programmes are mainly conducted on PolyU Hung Hom Bay Campus and West Kowloon Campus (a few classes are conducted on the PolyU Main Campus).
HKCC's Associate Degree and Higher Diploma students are entitled to enjoy all the facilities offered by both PolyU Hung Hom Bay and West Kowloon campuses; at the same time, they can also make use of the library and sports facilities on the PolyU Main Campus.
To ensure students can readily access the facilities on PolyU Hung Hom Bay Campus, PolyU West Kowloon Campus and the PolyU Main Campus, a shuttle bus service runs around at three times per hour during peak hours.

Associate Degree and Higher Diploma students may apply for the Government’s Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students (FASP) or Non-means-tested Loan Scheme for Post-secondary Students (NLSPS). They may also apply for Student Travel Subsidy under FASP.
